Pre Wax Tips

1. Hair Length

Ensure your hair growth is the right length aim for ¼ to ½ inch of hair. This allows the wax to grip the hair effectively. We recommend that you stop shaving at least two weeks before your appointment.

2. Exfoliate

Use our exfoliating gloves or our WAXD body scrubd on the area a day or two before waxing. This removes dead skin cells, helps wax adhere better, reduces ingrown hairs and leaves your skin smoother. 

3. Comfortable Clothing

Wear loose and comfortable clothing. This helps to reduce skin irritation and friction.

4. Pain Relief

Take pain reliever 30 minutes before your appointment if needed, to lessen the discomfort during waxing.

Do's & Dont's

1. Avoid Retinoid Creams

Don't use retinol creams before waxing as they can make your skin more sensitive.

2. Prescription Acne Medications

If you're on prescription acne medications, avoid waxing; Tweeze instead to prevent skin damage.

3. Skin Conditions

Avoid waxing over a sunburn as it can make waxing uncomfortable or potentially worse the condition.

Post Wax Care

1. Moisturise

Keep the area clean and moisturised to prevent ingrown hairs.

2. Avoid Shaving

Avoid shaving or any other hair removal methods between waxing sessions to allow the hair to grow back evenly.

3. Exfoliate

Exfoliate gently 24-48 hours after waxing to prevent ingrown hairs.

4. Prevent Ingrowns

Use WAXD ERAS'D Ingrown Spray twice a day for the first two weeks to prevent ingrown hairs, slow hair growth, soothe and hydrate the skin.

5. Products Containing Alcohol

Avoid using any products containing alcohol on the waxed area as it may cause irritation.

Brow & lash tint Aftercare

1. Avoid Harsh Cleansers.

Avoid using harsh cleansers or exfoliating facial cleansers in the areas that have been tinted. Products that contain alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or other chemical exfoliates will decrease the longevity of your eyebrow or eyelash tint.

2. No Swimming

Avoid swimming / chlorine for at least 24 hours after your brow tint, as chlorine can lead to fading and reduce the longevity of the tint.

3. Tint Longevity

A brow or lash tint can last up to 3 to 4 weeks depending on the hair and the home care.

4. Avoid Harsh Makeup Removers

Avoid using harsh makeup removers as it will decrease longevity.

5. No Self Tanning On Tinted Areas

Avoid using self-tanning products on the tinted areas for two-three days.
